Experts say that Facebook users are naively putting themselves at risk of identity theft by giving away so much personal information too easily.
Two in five people using social networking sites revealed personal information to a stranger, according to a recent survey carried out by technology company, Sophos.
A senior technology consultant Graham Cluley of Sophos revealed: "What is worrying is how easy it was for Freddi (the fictional username created with the logo of a frog, to carry out the test) to go about his business.” “He now has enough information to create phishing emails or malware specifically targeted at individual users or businesses, to guess the users' passwords, impersonate them or even stalk them."
