Lost Social Security Card: Identity Theft Facts 1

Only TEN years after her lost social security card was stolen, did a woman find out she had become a victim of identity theft. Imagine if that happened to you.

When IRS agents informed a Texas woman that someone else was using her Social Security Number to gain employment in Wisconsin, she remembered back to a trip she took to Mexico more than a decade ago, when she was still a child.

The Texas woman explained to Mayville Police Department Detective Dennis Hockers that her Social Security Card and birth registration cards were both stolen from her family's vehicle as they re-entered the United States. And now, ten years later the identification cards have re-surfaced in Dodge County, and criminal charges have been brought. Read more Here.

Make sure this doesn't happen to you. A friend of mine has written an excellent Report in which he highlights how an identity thief's mind works. Once you have this information, and act on the advice, it would be extremely difficult for someone to be able to steal your identity.

I would highly recommend this information. I wish I had known half of this advice before my identity was stolen two years ago. It would have saved me an 18 month nightmare and $7,500. Prevent your identity from being Stolen.

Take care
